The national government advanced in the tender for the privatization of the Hidrovía by issuing the Act of Evaluation of Envelope 1, in which it was defined that the companies Jan De Nul NV and DEME NV continue in the race, while DTA Engenharia was disqualified. During this first stage, the Evaluation Committee analyzed the companies' presentations in terms of operational history, technical and financial capacity, and compliance with guarantees. We will have two of the largest companies in the world competing in the next stage of the tender, which will be key,” stated a government official. The process contemplates an estimated investment of over 10,000 million dollars and will conclude with the awarding and signing of the new contract for the operation of the Hidrovía. Subsequently, the National Agency of Ports and Navigation will issue a resolution that will approve the evaluation of stage 1 and enable the opening of Envelope 2. In the second stage, the Work Plan of each bidder will be evaluated through a scoring system that contemplates the methodology, the teams, and the professionals who will carry out the works. Later, in stage 3, the economic offers will be opened, which will have the greatest weight in the award, with the objective of guaranteeing the lowest possible tariff for Argentine producers. The head of the agency, Iñaki Arresegur, held a meeting with representatives of provinces and users of the system, such as the Rosario Stock Exchange, the Rural Society of Argentina, the Argentine Industrial Union, and the Chamber of Private Commercial Ports, among others, to inform on the progress of the process. “A committed and professional technical work was done in this first stage of evaluation.”
